Both kids and adults will have a lot of fun creating these ribbon Christmas tree ornaments. They are perfect to decorate your tree or attach to presents for the people you love.
We love making these ribbon ornaments because it’s a great way to use up all of those scraps you have left over. They are adorable hanging on a tree and are super easy to make. You can use either twigs from outside or cinnamon sticks. Using the sticks will add a bit of fragrance to your room. I also don’t recommend letting kids use those as they could get it in their eyes (and nobody wants that).
While they are fun to make, they can also help teach kids how to tie! Just don’t tell them they are learning and let them just have fun making a fun ribbon ornament to hang on the tree or give to Grandma.

HOW TO MAKE RIBBON TREE ORNAMENTS
SUPPLIES
Ribbon scraps
Scissors
3″-5″ twig (or cinnamon sticks)
Ornament hook
DIRECTIONS
First, cut your ribbon scraps into 3″ – 4″ sections. Then, tie them snugly along the twig until you have about an inch left at the bottom of the twig to form the “trunk.” You can bunch your ribbons close together to make it as full or loose as you would like.
Once you’ve finished tying all of the ribbons to your twig or cinnamon stick, use your scissors and trim your ornament from the bottom towards the top, making a Christmas tree shape (wider at the bottom, and thinner at the top.) No worries about being perfect here, as this craft is pretty forgiving.
You can attach an ornament hook by sliding the bottom of the hook beneath the ribbon at the top of the tree. Once you’ve attached your hook, your ribbon scraps tree ornament is finished and ready to help spread Christmas cheer!
