I love to dress up my gifts at Christmas. It’s such a fun way to add to a gift, and make it that much more special. This year, make these DIY paint chip gift tags! You may have some paint chips lying around the house from an old project (don’t go stealing these from your local paint store for this project).
These are simple and easy to make, but so are adorable!

HOW TO MAKE PAINT CHIP GIFT TAGS
SUPPLIES
Cardstock
Scissors or a Gift Tag Punch
Paint Chips (in whatever colors you want)
Hole punch
Glue Dots or a Glue Stick
Twine, String, or Ribbon
CREATING YOUR TAGS
Cut out as many gift tags as you from the card stock, in whatever shape you like. I recommend using a gift tag punch to create mine. This allows not only uniform sizes, but also makes the cutting time relatively short.
Next, punch a hole at the top of each tag, as you will need a place to run your twine or string. Make sure it is near the top and centered as much as possible.
Now is the fun part, as you get to cut out your trees from the paint chips! These are at many stores, including Walmart. Make sure you take only a few as you can get more than one tree from each chip. tCut out a long triangle and you will have your trees!
Secure your trees to your gift tags with glue (I recommend glue dots). Make sure the trees are not too tall or they will cover teh hole on the tag. Trim them as needed so each fits perfectly.
You are now ready to finish your tags. Cut several 5″-6″ sections of twine or string (one section for every tag you made). Line up the ends of the string, and put both ends through the hole at once. Pull the ends over the top of the hole, and back through the loop, and gently pull to tighten it to the tag. No need to tie the ends of the string, and you will be attaching it to a gift!
Have fun making and decorating your gifts using these fun tags! I love the way mine turned out and can’t wait to make more!
