Any day now we will all be celebrating the holidays at parties and family get togethers! Decorating for these is something I enjoy doing. I love everything to be themed and seasonal. I also like to use things year after year instead of having to buy new each year.
I recently found an awesome idea on Pinterest, featuring Santa cups made from red Solo cups. As much as I loved the idea, when I looked up the tutorial, it had you hot glue the ribbon and buttons to the cups themselves. While they were cute, I couldn’t imagine making that many cups look like Santa’s outfit, and then just throwing them all away.
Instead, I came up with my own rendition, and I’m really happy with these DIY Santa Cups with reusable belts!

DIRECTIONS
The elastic is the key ingredient in making this a reusable craft each year. Instead of gluing the elastic to the cup, you attach the elastic to itself, making an elastic circle that will slide on and off the cup so you can use them again and again!
Measure around your cup where you want the elastic to be. Cut it to the right length and then, use this as a guide to cut all of your other pieces of elastic.
Depending on the type of buttons you have, either string them onto the elastic, or hot glue them to the middle of the elastic strip.
Once your buttons are attached, glue the ends of your elastic together to make a circle. Let the glue dry and cool completely, and then you can just slide them on your cups when you’re ready for your holiday get together!
Make sure to let your guests know not to throw the bands away with their cups, so you can use them over and over again each year! This will save you time and money – it’s a win win!
