I remember my mom teaching me what she referred to as the “art of clipping coupons,” when I was younger. Sitting at our sunlight drenched kitchen table early on Saturday mornings, organizing our coupon books and carefully cutting out the ones we desired. As much fun as I had on those mornings, and as many silly memories were made, fast forward twenty years or so and online shopping, specifically Amazon Prime shopping, has truly become a marvel of the modern world. The convenience of which I would not trade for regular old coupon books!
As busy and time-consuming as our adult days usually are, I know I don’t have to convince you that online shopping is just the antidote to our oftentimes stressful lives. It has saved the day more than once for me, and I’m guessing it has done the same for you! However, it wasn’t until I was knee-deep in my recent Amazon orders that I discovered the sheer volume of coupons Amazon has available to its shoppers. Think of your old-fashioned days of clipping coupons but put a digital twist on it. Instead of sharpening those scissors, get your pointer finger ready to click that mouse, and take a look below at some of the best discount deals on Amazon currently.
The Types of Coupons Amazon Has Available & How to Find Them
There is sure to be something for everyone within the wide range of coupons they have available at any given time. A few examples are Health & Personal Care coupons, Grocery coupons, (I’m absolutely getting in line for that one!) There are Home & Kitchen coupons, Toy & Kid’s Clothes coupons, (which I intend to pursue somewhat obsessively come Christmas time!), and even Pet Food & Pet Supplies coupons, to name a few of the most popular coupons that are currently on Amazon.
Finding these coupons is relatively simple; you’ll be pleased to discover. Some of Amazon’s products have the available coupons flagged right underneath the product listings in the form of a button. It’s as simple as clicking right on that “Clip Coupon” button in order to redeem it for your purchase.
However, if you have a hankering to peruse something like an old-fashioned coupon book, you can do that via the Amazon coupon page. It’s a fantastic little-known secret that we should really let everyone in on! For anyone who has an Amazon account, it’s very easy. You can simply type into your address bar www.amazon.com/Coupons and it’ll pop right up!
On this page, you’ll find different coupon categories you can browse through. Electronics, Home & Kitchen, and Grocery & Gourmet are just a few of the most popular sections you’ll see listed there. The best part of this “secret,” page is that if you see something you’d like to purchase, right in the moment, or even a bit later, you’ll see a yellow “Clip Coupon” button right below the item you’re eyeing. Once you click it, it’ll be saved in your Amazon shopping cart until the actual purchase or checkout of that particular item.
Other Ways to Save Big & Shop Heartily on Amazon
Other than coupons, Amazon has various ways to stretch and save your hard-earned money! Special events like Amazon Prime Day or Black Friday are excellent ways to get more for your buck. Amazon Prime day is a special day that will be heavily advertised to those who hold Amazon Prime membership (click for a 30-day free trial). It will include lots of big-ticket items whose prices have been reduced. For those who don’t indulge in retail therapy, and might otherwise be unaware, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and it’s usually marked heavily by retailer advertising that includes special deals, and/or coupons. (It’s a wonderful time to start thinking ahead for next year’s Christmas gifts! Trust me, your kids – and your wallet – will love you for it!)
Another great way to save is to use the Subscribe & Save feature, it’s only available to Amazon shoppers that have an Amazon Prime membership. Certain items, oftentimes things like toothpaste, pet supplies, or cleaning agents, things that you purchase monthly or on the regular, have the option for you to choose something called subscribe and save. It’s a feature that will automatically purchase the item for you every month or so, and then it’s automatically billed to the payment method of your choice. A benefit of Subscribe & Save is that it’s usually a bit cheaper than if you were to buy the item as a one-time purchase. Subscribe & Save is absolutely worth it if you have any products that you buy often.
“Deals of the Day” are great to keep an eye out for as well. You can find this on the top left of your Amazon homepage, it’ll say “Today’s Deals.” It’s absolutely worth glancing through every so often.
If you’re in the market for a bigger ticket item, a great way to go about your research in purchasing it, may be to look into the Amazon warehouse. It can be found in the search bar at the top of your Amazon page, just scroll down to Amazon warehouse and it’ll take you right to the page. Within it, are many items that are gently used, but in great condition for a bit more affordable price. All products within the warehouse go through a thorough quality check before being officially listed on the site, so you can be sure that you’re getting quality products.
Amazon Outlet is another way to successfully stretch your bucks. It’s very similar to the warehouse, but a noticeable difference between the two is that it’s filled with great, new items that have simply been overstocked. If there’s something you’re needing, scroll through the Amazon outlet before you do anything else, for sure! You never know what treasure could be hiding there, waiting to become yours. The prices have been reduced, and you’re sure to be able to find great deals that you otherwise might have missed!
Answered Questions for the Prime Member, or guest Amazon Shopper
The Amazon shopping site is very user-friendly, to both the Prime member, and the Amazon shopping guest. But just in case you have any questions, we can answer a few of the most common ones right here!
One question you’ll probably be sure to have, is can you use manufacturer coupons on the Amazon site? The answer, unfortunately, is no, you’re not able to. Amazon works very hard to provide their shoppers, both the Prime members and their one-time guests, extremely fair prices and numerous other opportunities to save money and to get the most with your hard-earned finances. So, ultimately manufacturer coupons don’t really fit into Amazon’s business model. But never fear, things like the Amazon promo code, coupon codes, or even the occasional Amazon gift card, can go a long way in placating this particular fact!
Another thing you might wonder about is how you can go about saving the coupons you found on Amazon? That’s a great question, and the answer is really simple. Remember earlier when we said if you’re eyeing a product and there’s a little flag underneath it, attached to a coupon button, you can click it, and once you add that product to your Amazon shopping cart, the product and coupon will be saved until the time you purchase that particular item, or until the coupon expires, (so don’t wait too long!)
Along those same lines, you may very well ask yourself, do the coupons have an expiration date? And just like regular coupons, sadly, they do. Although they don’t have a formal expiration date, if you’ve clipped one of these digital coupons, you’ll be notified when the offer is about to expire. So, keep a close eye on that!
Another question that is really common; is a Prime membership worth it? And I wholeheartedly say yes, it is! (Just the option it opens up for you to get full access to Prime Video; a mega streaming service with many, many fun movie night options, is worth it alone for me and my family!) But aside from that, a Prime membership can save you mega bucks throughout the year. Whether that’s in the form of Amazon Prime day, subscribe and save, other special offers, or promotional ads, it is absolutely worth the low monthly fee to subscribe and start your own savings today!
