Find out how easy it is to make this melted crayon canvas!!
I have a very creative daughter. She is my one who loves to bake and make crafts with me. Some times, she even comes up with ideas I’ve never heard of before!
Recently, she told me she wanted to make a melted crayon canvas. I wasn’t sure what she was talking about, but told her I would work with her on it.
We went to the store and she found the TWO things she had to buy (which were really affordable). When we got home, she sat down and explained to me what she wanted to do and then started the project.
She asked me to help her with the hot glue of the crayons (as she did not want to get burned). Then, she did the rest of it. It was actually a LOT of fun!!! It is a marriage of science and learning how quickly crayons melt as well as having fun.

SUPPLIES
Canvas (any size will work – the larger the canvas, the more crayons you will need).
Box of crayons
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Newspaper
DIRECTIONS
Lie crayons on the canvas in the order you want them to look. You can do rainbow or more of an ombre look, whatever you would like.
Once you have them laid out, hot glue each crayon onto the canvas. Make sure they line up properly as once you set it onto the canvas, you will not be able to move it. Allow the crayons to set for a few hours.
Prop up the canvas with the crayons pointing downward (as in the photo). Make sure you have a LOT of newspaper spread beneath and around the canvas (the melt will splatter).
Use a blow dryer on the lowest speed setting (do not want it blowing the hot air too forcefully). Point the dryer downward onto the center of each crayon. As the hot air blows over it, the tip will begin to melt and the wax will begin to run down.
Do this across all of the crayons. If you want more splatter, blow directly onto the tip. If you want more of a run, make sure you always keep the blow dryer up higher onto the crayon pointing downward.
Allow to set for 24 hours and then hang and enjoy!!!
