Hey everyone! I know, it’s not July 4th but, it’s close enough. Independence Day is the day that marks our freedom as United States Citizens. We enjoy freedoms that people just like you and I in other countries can only dream of enjoying. Freedoms that the best of the best have fought for, for years and will continue to fight for, for an eternity! With that being said, today, I want to remind you of how important it is to support our troops and veterans any chance we get. After all, they put their lives on the line so we can enjoy simple freedoms like, driving, having the ability to choose our career, having the ability to thrive in any financial climate and so much more! All of that being said, here are 3 great charities that support our troops and veterans, feel free to give back!
The Wounded Warrior Project
The Wounded Warrior Project is an amazing charity with a sole purpose of helping the troops who have been wounded physically or mentally fighting for you and I! The biggest goal or, vision of the Wounded Warrior Project is to foster the most successful, well adjusted generation of wounded service members in our Nation’s history. Now, that’s a big vision! They do this by providing support that will help wounded warriors reenter society as well adjusted contributors to their communities. They provide Combat Stress Recovery Support, Family Support, Peer Mentoring and so much more for those who have been injured in service. Donate to the Wounded Warrior Project here!
Adopt A US Soldier
Adopt A US Soldier is another amazing charity however, this one is a very unique program designed to help those on the battlefield and create relationships for them with those they are fighting for. With this charity, you go through a process of adopting a soldier that is on duty right now. Once you adopt, it is your duty to send care packages to your adopted soldier. When you send your care packages, you want to include anything from food to hygiene supplies, books, magazines, drinks, batteries and anything in between. It’s up to you what you send and also, a bit fun to write the letters back and fourth! Adopt A Soldier or Donate here!
Freedom Is Not Free
Freedom Is Not Free is yet another great organization that was created to assist wounded veterans, their families and the families of those who have passed on the battlefield. By giving grants to soldiers whom have been given the Purple Heart, Freedom Is Not Free helps the veterans and their families meet pressing financial demands. The grants help with everything from medical care to home modification, travel, general bills and many other things a veteran and their family may need. You can donate to Freedom Is Not Free here!
Keeping With The Friday Finance Theme
It is Friday Finance after all so, always remember, there are good tax benefits that come with donating money to a non for profit organization! Although, you won’t get 100% of your donation back with your tax return, you will get some of it back which, may make it a bit easier to donate! Thanks for reading and I’ll see you all next Friday!
