If you are worried that you might end up in the dog house because you didn’t get something for your Valentine, never fear! Below you will find a few great inexpensive (and even free) ideas to make your Valentine smile and keep you from sleeping outside!
WRITE A LOVE NOTE.
You don’t have to be a Ralph Waldo Emerson or Emily Post in order to write your Valentine a love note. My husband wrote me one several years ago and I still have it. The flowers he has bought me before? Dead and gone.
The note just should come from your heart. Just tell your sweetheart why you still love them. Let them know you appreciate what they do for you. That little note can say so much — and it’s FREE!
COOK DINNER (and then do the dishes).
You have to eat dinner tonight. You don’t have to go out to a restaurant. Make a nice dinner, dig out the China and light some candles. Spending a quite dinner together can make your Valentine smile. Want to make it even better — offer to do the dishes when you are through eating!
MAKE A COUPON.
Dig out the construction paper and the markers and make a coupon! You could give your Valentine a 20 minute back massage or even a coupon they can redeem for one day of owning the remote control. The ideas are endless. Again – this is a fun, FREE idea!
JOIN A CLASS.
This one isn’t quite as frugal, but it is a unique idea. Why not sign up yourself and your Valentine for a dance or cooking class? It’s a great way to spend time together and learn something new. You just might pick up some interesting dance moves and get that chance to reconnect with your sweetheart.
GO DANCING (in your pajamas).
Download that favorite tune and then treat your significant other to a dance. My favorite dances have been on our living room floor – in my pajamas. Those are those special moments which create a lasting memory.
