A favorite retailer for infant, toddler and children’s clothing is Carter’s. The quality is amazing and they just hold up through all that small children put them through. But, if you have ever shopped at your local Carter’s store, you may have spent more than you wanted. Before you step foot into a store or shop online, check out these expert tips on how to save money at Carter’s.
If you have young children, you know how quickly the grow. That means you need to find them clothes at affordable prices. One of the most popular brands are those sold by Carter’s. But, you should not pay full price – ever.
TRICKS FOR GETTING THE BEST DEALS ON CARTER’S CLOTHES
Sign up for Carter’s Rewards
Carter’s offers a free rewards program called Rewarding Moments. The program works at all three stores: Carter’s, SkipHop and Osh Kosh b’Gosh.
For every dollar spent, you earn a point. Once you reach 100 points, you will receive a $10 reward certificate, to use towards your next purchase. But, the program offers more than just points.
You will receive a special gift for your child’s birthday. Rewards members also receive special discounts and offers which will earn them special bonus points.
Watch for Doorbuster Deals and Sales
Make sure you are signed up to get Carter’s emails. They often offer doorbuster sales, where items are priced at rock bottom prices. They also have sales all of the time, so you should never have to pay full price for anything. Ever.
Check for Carter’s coupons
If you receive emails, you will get coupons sent to you. In fact, when you first sign up, they will send you a coupon for 20% off your next purchase.
You will regularly receive coupons for 25% off your $40+ purchase or 15% off your entire purchase (these coupons usually exclude doorbusters and clearance items). They show up in your inbox, so you can watch for them and only shop when they arrive.
Take advantage of the referral program
When you refer friends and family to Carter’s and they sign up for emails, they will receive a coupon for $15 off their very first purchase of $50 or more. And, as a thank you for the referral, Carter’s will send you a coupon to save 25% off your purchase of $60 or more.
Get paid to shop
Don’t click to Carters.com to shop. Instead, go through Ebates! Ebates is a cashback site. When you shop online, you will earn a small percentage of your total purchase back in cash. They work with thousands of merchants and you can earn cash on just about everything you purchase.
They currently offer 2.5% cash back on all Carter’s purchases. Log into your account and then find Carters from the list of stores. Click through the Shop Now button and then you will get a small portion of your total purchase back in your account.
Shop with discounted gift cards
A simple hack to save money just about anywhere you shop is to use discounted gift cards. Sites, such as Gift Card Granny, sell cards to thousands of merchants for less than face value.
Check for apps
If you are out shopping, don’t buy until you check for a coupon! Apps such as Shopkick can easily help save you money on Carter’s clothes for your kids.
When you are near a store, you will get an alert. When you walk in you will earn 50 kicks. If you make a purchase of at least $75, you will get another 775 kicks! Your kicks are points that you can convert into rewards. It’s another way to get paid to shop!
If you aren’t up for Shopkick, always check for a new coupon through CouponSherpa. It is one of the best apps for finding coupons you can use in the store.
Use the Carter’s Credit Card
I’m not normally a proponent for using credit cards. But, if you are responsible and pay yours in full each month, they can be a great way to get even more savings.
When you use the Carter’s Credit Card, you will save an additional 2% on every single purchase. Combine your card with a coupon, using Ebates and a coupon and you’ll maximize your savings on every single purchase.
Shop at Kohl’s or JCPenney for the Best Deals
Wait. What? Yep. Don’t shop at your local Carter’s store. Instead, check out retailers like Kohl’s or JCPenney, for example. These stores not only offer amazing discounts, but you can use store coupons in addition to the sale, making them very affordable.
Don’t think used is cheaper
Many parents think that if they shop at consignment stores for Carter’s Baby clothes, they will find better deals. That is not always the case! In fact, if you shop at the right time of the year and watch for sales, you can find prices as good as, if not lower than, consignment shops. Why buy used when you can get new items for less?
