Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage

An easy to follow recipe to learn how to make Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs corned beef brisket
  • 1/2 head of cabbage
  • 10 baby red potatoes
  • 1/2 onion
  • 4 carrots (optional) – Not my preference, but a lot of people like to add carrots
  • 6 oz beer (I like Guinness for this recipe since it’s Irish and has good flavor)
  • 4 cups of water
  • Salt and black pepper

Instructions

  1. Set your crockpot on high.
  2. Half the baby potatoes and place them on the bottom.
  3. Cut the onion into large chunks and place them over the potatoes.
  4. Place the corned beef on top.
  5. Pour on the water and the beer over the corned beef.
  6. Sprinkle on the seasoning packet that came with the corned beef.
  7. Let it cook on high for 7 hours.
  8. Coarsely chop the cabbage, and add it when the seven hours is up.
  9. Let it cook for one hour with the cabbage added.
